BIODATA OF PROF. G.SRIMANNARAYANA

                                                          BIODATA IN BRIEF. 
 

       GOTETY.SRIMANNARAYANA (born 21st August, 1939)  had his early education at Chittavaram village and Narsapur Town, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, India.

        He did B.Sc., (Hons.) and M.Sc., (Organic Chemistry) from Andhra University and Ph.D. in Natural Products and Synthetic Organic Chemistry from Osmania University under the guidance of eminient Natural Product Chemist Prof. N.V.Subba Rao.

        He worked in the Department of Chemistry, Osmania University in various capacities – Lecturer, Reader, Professor, Head of the Department of Chemistry, Chairman, Board of Studies in Chemistry and Dean, Faculty of Science, Osmania University.

        His teaching interests include Synthetic Organic Chemistry and Natural Products.

         His research interests include Synthesis of heterocycles, isolation of and structure of Natural Products from Medicinal Plants and insecticidal plants.

          Published 100 research Papers in National and International journals, took 6 Patents, 20 Students got Ph.D., under his guidance, visited USA (as Research Associate, Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island, USA). London and Malta (as Commonwealth expert) and Japan .

         He has expertise in Organic Synthesis and processing of herbal medicines.  After retirement in 1999, Scientist he is guiding two research schemes, as princispal investigator,in Osmania University.
